Hello NYRC Friends and Family,
As we say farewell to 2018 and usher in the start of 2019, we look forward to what lies ahead for our club. The upcoming year marks the 90th anniversary of NYRC's creation and the very founding of club rugby in the United States - a milestone that calls on us to both celebrate our history as well as look towards and prepare for our club's bright future.
2018 has been filled with exciting news and accomplishments for all our teams, current players, and alumni. Our Men’s team has fielded three full sides, with the D2 team retaining the Village Cup all year and D3 winning the inaugural Empire Challenge Cup. On the Women’s side, the team placed 3rd in the country at WPL Nationals and won the USA Rugby 7s Plate Final. The U19 programs have has an extraordinarily successful year due in large part to the our new Head Coach Alex Miles - with Captain Mahdia Parker earning an invitation to the US All American Camp. I am so very proud of the club's achievements on the field and those of our alumni seeking to grow the game.
There is no better time to come off the sidelines to support New York Rugby Club and our broader alumni community. Personally, I know the connections I have made through this club will remain with me for my entire life. I hope you'll make 2019 the year you reconnect with former teammates and friends from the club - and join us for our incredible 90th Anniversary celebration on February 9th. I am incredibly grateful for the leadership of Tiffany Faaee, Laura London, and Rick Damaso - who have spearheaded the event and have made this amazing celebration possible.
From our entire Board of Directors and Club Officers, thank you for another amazing year together. As always, we appreciate your support for this enduring club.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and happy new year -
