The best way to keep up to date with New York Rugby Club

2017 Year End Note from the President

2 months ago By Kyle Dean

Thank you

I want to take this time to thank everyone for their hard work throughout the season. We have been incredibly successful on the field this year and it is a large part of what makes this one of the greatest clubs in the country. The high school program continues to introduce the game to more kids in the city each year and continues to develop the talent in those already in the program. Our men's team has reached the playoffs for D2 again this year finishing 2nd in the league. Last but certainly not least, our women's team is the undefeated national champions of the WPL and their recently formed D1 program is at the top of the table sitting undefeated as well.

I also want to thank all of you who volunteer your time to make this club run. Without each of you, we wouldn't be the club that we are today. I specifically want to thank my officers and fellow directors for the countless hours and long meetings that you sit through to position this club for success in both the day to day and for the long term.

We have many exciting things planned for 2018. We are striving to continue to create a community feeling across the club through new events like Rugby Prom. We are looking for ways to make it easier for anyone who wants to play to get a chance to learn the game. We want to lead the conversation of what amateur rugby looks like in New York City with the upcoming creation of the first professional team. In addition to all of this there are still goals that we have yet to uncover. To that end, I want to encourage each of you to get involved, get re-involved, or continue your involvement as we strive to create a club that is seen as a premier destination in this country.

Have a happy new year and I hope to see each of you in 2018,

Kyle Dean |
